About me
Hello, and welcome.
My name is Tara, my pronouns are she/her. I am a integrative counsellor and a sex and relationship psychotherapist.
I was raised working class, a Londoner with a little bit of the north in my soul. I have a love for all things gothic and spooky, and I may even incorporate a little of this in my sessions if your lucky!
I have always had a fascination with people, our stories, and how we connect with ourselves and others. I have an enquiring mind for all things connected to eroticism, sex, life, and death and I have never shied away from conversations, explorations, or topics that may feel taboo or difficult.
It’s a brave step to reach out and book a session, but if you are feeling brave reach out, book a session, grab yourself a cuppa, and lets have a chat.

“Whether we seek to explore eroticism on our own or with a partner, it always starts at the source: the self. ”
Therapeutic style
My therapeutic style is collaborative, human, and relaxed. I believe that the power of therapy can lay in a strong relationship between you and the therapist.
I will tailor the sessions and my approach to you. I will pull from different styles of therapy (this is called integrative therapy) and work alongside you to help you with whatever you bring.
I am not the type of therapist that will sit there silently politely taking notes (not that there is anything wrong with this if that’s what you want). I welcome the sharing of memes, pictures of your pets, and raw honesty. I want the space to be comfortable and safe for you, and your partner/s.
I work in a Trauma informed way i.e. addressing any barriers trauma may have given you, and I am kink, sex worker, and LGBTQIA+ friendly
Alongside this I have an innate capacity to hold people in places were others dare to tread, warmly, safely, and without judgment.

Counselling Can also be called therapy, or Talking therapy for short. These words are often used interchangeably. I like to view it as you and me unravelling and exploring some issues, thoughts, and feelings in a supported and safe environment. See image to your left, which is one of my favourite depictions of talking therapy.
Sometimes we may hold a lot of answers within us, but need the support to find them.
Sex Therapy; is a specialised form of psychotherapy that focus on sex, sexuality, and gender. These are vital elements of our physical, psychological, and social development, they impact all areas of our human experience, including how we view ourselves, those around us, and our world.

Sessions will ordinarily be via zoom.
The sessions will be 50 mins, or up to 1 hour (if with partner/s) and sessions can be weekly or fortnightly.
I offer short term (which means that you can book up to x12 sessions)
Or open ended (which means you can see how you go, we can have a review after x6 sessions and again at x12 to see if you may like to continue)
We will sit together, discuss things, and explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns around them.
I may ask questions around your history, relationship/s, and I may give you home work like exercises. We may decide at the beginning of the sessions you want to focus on one particular issue. I will be guided by you.
